This Part-Time Deli Clerk position is for individuals passionate about food service and dedicated to offering delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Requirements

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel (Customer Focus).
• Good oral and written communication skills (Communication Skills).
• Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members (Effective Problem-Solving).
• Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers (Safety Awareness).
• Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions (Food Knowledge).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service, including friendly greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and care.
• Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
• Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
• Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience.
• Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
• Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more.
• Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards.
• Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
• Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
