About The Position

Full-Time Piggly Wiggly Food for Less is seeking an Experienced Cake Decorator for a full-time and part-time who enjoy serving customers and providing excellent, courteous, and prompt customer service. We are a locally owned full-service grocery store. Our mission is to provide accessible, reliable, and safe products and services to grocery stores and other business investments efficiently and affordably through prudent business decisions for the communities we serve. Job Summary: Deli associates are responsible for preparing and serving food items, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and providing excellent customer service to all patrons.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Customer service experience
Ability to handle stressful situations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Nice To Haves

Experience in cake decorating.

Responsibilities

Prep, Ice, and Decorate cakes in the deli for stock and special occasions/orders.
Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.
Offer product suggestions when appropriate.
Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
Operate department equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management.
Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
Prepare and serve food items such as hot meals, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
Understand the company’s checkout/purchasing procedures to include how customers and staff pay for items in the store.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to include maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned to include stocking, cleaning, etc.
