About The Position

The Deli Bakery Associate position at Military Deli & Bakery Services involves providing excellent customer service to military personnel and their families at various US Military Commissary locations. This part-time role primarily focuses on weekend shifts, with responsibilities including food preparation, customer interaction, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Team player with grocery, food service, or retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and teamwork.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests.
• Prepare custom party trays and make sandwiches accordingly.
• Stock and organize displays, assisting with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department and equipment, and follow food handling/preparation guidelines.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Perform additional tasks such as cake decorating, baking, and rotisserie chicken preparation as needed.
