About The Position

The position involves assessing each store's ability to exceed customer expectations in various areas such as ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions. The individual will serve as the subject matter expert on Deli/Bakery and act as a liaison with the Deli/Bakery Merchandiser to provide feedback on the effectiveness of merchandising and operational plans. Collaboration with associates is key in executing store product plan-o-grams, and the role focuses on teaching and coaching the merchandising plan while upskilling associates in stores. The individual is expected to demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years store leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve objectives through others.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience as store department leader in the Deli or Bakery.
  • Experience as assistant store manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each store's ability to exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Deli/Bakery and liaison with the Deli/Bakery Merchandiser.
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of merchandising or operational plans/programs.
  • Collaborate with associates in the execution of store product plan-o-grams.
  • Teach and coach the merchandising plan and upskill associates in stores.
  • Share merchandising plans with store leadership, department leaders, and associates through frequent and timely store visits.
  • Instruct and train store department leaders on writing good schedules and orders.
  • Instruct/train store associates in the proper use of display space and merchandising techniques.
  • Ensure company standards of handling, receiving, storage, pricing, stocking, and rotating are implemented at the store level.
  • Review store orders for adjustments and work closely with corporate departments to resolve product delivery issues.
  • Implement Freshness & Standards initiatives.
  • Ensure store compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and enterprise/division policy.
  • Maintain and support all food safety and sanitation best practices of the division.
  • Work with store associates in promoting safety and achieving a zero-accident safety culture.
  • Assist in the installation, training, and use of new equipment and/or work methods.
  • Provide feedback to store leader and district manager on the strengths and developmental opportunities of associates.
  • Work with HR resources, store teams, and district manager to ensure effective use of training programs.
  • Provide input concerning promotability and selection of store department leaders and assistant department leaders.
