About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for applying deicing chemicals and salt to roads, parking lots, and other outdoor surfaces to prevent snow and ice accumulation, ensuring safe conditions during the winter months. You will operate specialized equipment, including trucks equipped with salt spreaders and deicing machinery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating deicing or salting equipment is a plus, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) may be required based on the type of equipment used.
• Ability to work in cold, winter weather conditions for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
• Basic mechanical skills to perform equipment checks.
• Flexibility to work hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as weather conditions dictate.

Responsibilities

• Operate deicing and salting equipment to treat roads, parking lots, walkways, and other outdoor surfaces.
• Monitor weather conditions and respond quickly to snow and ice events.
• Safely load and unload salt, sand, or other deicing materials into trucks or equipment.
• Inspect equipment before and after each use to ensure it is functioning properly.
• Follow safety protocols and traffic regulations while working in public areas.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs on deicing/salting equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of deicing/salting operations, including materials used and areas treated.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate operations.
