About The Position

The Deicing Lead operates deicing equipment to remove ice, snow, and other contaminants from aircraft, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role provides leadership, training, guidance, and oversight to the deicing team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and at heights up to 40’.
  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules during winter operations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment background check, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and drug screening.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years deicing experience.
  • Prior ramp service experience.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all deicing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct and document daily equipment and truck inspections.
  • Manage deice fluid operations, including proper mixing, distribution, and testing.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of 4–12 employees, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Train and coach new and existing employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and deicing standards, verifying completion.
  • Hold team members accountable for task completion, safety compliance, and operational standards.
  • Plan daily operations based on weather forecasts and operational demands.
  • Maintain accurate logs, work orders, and safety documentation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for other departments and customers during assigned shifts.
  • Assist with other Ramp Operations duties as needed.
