About The Position
The Degree Plan Evaluator II position at the University of Texas at Austin is a vital role within the Graduate School, contributing to the operational excellence and enhancement of the student experience. This position is responsible for advising students and graduate programs on various academic processes, including committee composition, deadlines, defense requirements, and electronic thesis and dissertation submissions. The evaluator will provide technical assistance to both students and faculty to facilitate degree certification processes, ensuring that all requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner. In addition to advising, the Degree Plan Evaluator II will maintain a current knowledge of technological advancements that impact degree certification and related processes. This includes the regular delivery of electronic theses and dissertations to relevant libraries and institutions, as well as preparing statistical reports on university graduates. The evaluator will also process doctoral candidacy applications, manage paperwork for doctoral dissertations, and oversee master's graduation applications, ensuring compliance with the Graduate School Catalog requirements. The role requires a proactive approach to reviewing students' completed course credits against approved degree requirements, notifying students of any outstanding coursework necessary for graduation. The evaluator will also develop and maintain a computerized degree check system, serve as a primary resource for other campus offices regarding degree requirements, and administer training workshops for graduating students. This position is essential in ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of degree plans, thereby directly impacting the academic success of students at UT Austin.
