About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Definitive Observation Unit CNA, also referred to DOU Certified Nursing Assistant, Step-Down Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Progressive Care CNA in our Definitive Observation Unit (DOU). This role involves providing direct patient care to individuals who require closer monitoring than on a regular med-surg floor but are not critical enough for the ICU in our DOU. Requirements

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Nice To Haves

Minimum six months' previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.

Responsibilities

Take and record frequent vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
Assist patients with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, and feeding support
Turn, reposition, and assist patients with mobility and safe transfers using proper techniques and equipment
Monitor and document intake and output while observing for and reporting any changes in patient condition
Support nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients requiring close observation in a step-down unit
