As the primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors, and individuals. This role resides in the Retirement Solutions business within the Client Solutions Group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). Retirement Solutions includes our Defined Contribution (DC) business, our Retirement Intermediary, Insurance business and a dedicated large market retirement distribution effort. Within Defined Contribution, our primary offerings span investment products across the asset class spectrum (DCIO), advisory/OCIO services and digital advice/managed accounts. YOUR IMPACT We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, relationship-driven individual for a role on the Retirement Team, who will work closely with our Global Consultant Relations, Institutional Sales, Stable Value and DC Strategy teams in the U.S. In this role, you will help drive both public and private markets fundraising across collective investment trust (CIT) and separately managed account (SMA) vehicles in key areas such as Stable Value, Target Date, Retirement Planning & Advice (managed accounts), as well as quantitative and fundamental offerings within the U.S. DC Consultant channel, while also supporting the day-to-day needs of the Institutional Client Business to win new clients and retain existing ones.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of work experience in either: consultant relations, institutional (pension) sales, client relations, investment consulting, or as a product specialist with a strong working knowledge of the DC marketplace dynamics
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and commercially minded: this role requires the ability to build excellent working relationships with many internal and external parties
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced, multi-team environment
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to project manage and execute on objectives
  • Series 7 and 63 required

Nice To Haves

  • CFA/CAIA preferred
  • Salesforce proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop relationships with DC-centric consultants to further commercial objectives
  • Partner with senior relationship managers working with sophisticated DC consultants and plan sponsors
  • Participate in Retirement related projects and product initiatives, and assist in evolving the market positioning for select DCIO strategies, CIT launches, Stable Value evolution, thought leadership and technology-driven advice platforms with leading DC consultants
  • Organize research meetings, due diligence reviews, and presentations between dedicated DC investment consultants and GS
  • Research, track and summarize progress with investment consultants, including: RFI/RFP inclusion, sales opportunities, ratings (informal and formal), and DC market trends
  • Develop a close partnership with internal sales and investment teams to commercialize our DC Retirement business strategy
