About The Position
Spirit AeroSystems is seeking an Inspector for Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) at our Wichita, Kansas facility. This position is integral to our operations, which focus on designing and building aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. The Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through various non-destructive testing methods. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of inspection techniques and the ability to work with a variety of inspection equipment and tools. The Inspector will also be involved in training and cross-training activities to enhance their skills and knowledge in multiple inspection disciplines. As an Inspector, you will be expected to maintain certifications in accordance with NAS-410 and MAA1-10026-1, and you will assist in the development of inspection techniques that require approval from a Level III inspector. You will utilize your skills to interpret drawings, inspection manuals, and specifications, and apply shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to accomplish your work assignments. The position also involves evaluating inspection results, preparing quality records, and performing audits and surveillance of processes and hardware. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and computing skills, as well as the ability to coordinate with other company organizations and customer representatives. This role may require working in a repair station environment and operating multi-axis automated ultrasonic systems. The Inspector will also be responsible for conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions as necessary, ensuring compliance with all relevant quality management system policies and procedures.
