The DBS Digital Information Team (DIT) supports, delivers, and maintains a wide range of on-premise, Software as a Service (SAAS), Platform as a Service (PAAS), and robotic products for defence. DIT products support thousands of users across defence and a significant number of key defence activities ranging from Oracle Ebusiness Suite for our Finance and Commercial activities to Oracle Fusion (SaaS) for our Civilian Personal HR, Payroll and Expenses activities. As a DBS DIT Fusion Middleware Administration Support, you will be responsible for providing support to the DBS Fusion Middleware Administrators, ensuring Fusion Middleware services are available, secure, and performing within departmental service level agreements. You will also provide 3rd line support for users, assist with the creation or migration of new databases/application tiers, maintain technical documentation, and liaise with other teams for incident management and project support.

  • Ensure Fusion Middleware services are available, secure, and performing within departmental service level agreements.
  • Provide 3rd line support for users who raise service calls.
  • Assist with the creation or migration of new or cloned databases/application tiers.
  • Assist with the maintenance of technical documentation ensuring that it is relevant and up to date.
  • Liaise with other relevant teams across DIT for incident management, issue resolution, and project support.
  • Assist with maintenance activities and installing updates and bug fixes on a regular basis.
  • Build and administer WebLogic environments comprised of various Oracle technologies.
  • Knowledge or awareness of SQL, XML, and PLSQL.
  • Ability to edit/create simple scripts in Jython.
  • Experience with TOAD, Putty, WebLogic Console, ODI Studio, and Enterprise Manager.
  • Familiarity with Redhat Linux command line.
  • Ability to diagnose issues from log files.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of problems and proactively resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge or awareness of Oracle Database and Application administration.
  • Experience supporting Database and Applications on AIX and RHEL.
  • Familiarity with JDeveloper.
  • Understanding of Java Messaging Service using Store and Forward.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Service Bus process.
  • Experience with Single Sign On (Oracle Access Manager and Oracle Internet Directory).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory integrations.
