The DEF Marketer will be tasked with learning and retaining the Musket DEF process flow from customer setup through first delivery. Once the DEF Marketer understands how their action/inaction impacts the process flow, the DEF Marketer will be responsible for originating a book of 3rd party wholesale and retail business within a designated territory by applying innovative problem solving and value-add solutions to identified business opportunities.

  • Use phone, internet, and networks to discover new business prospects and develop organic sales pipeline.
  • Discover incremental business opportunities with legacy customer base and assist sales to close.
  • Collaborate with sales team to identify DEF players/positions and develop competitive intelligence in key markets.
  • Prepare sales presentations/agendas and assist sales team with closing identified pipeline prospects.
  • Complete understanding of customer setup through credit and back-office ERP.
  • Urgent response time to customer inquiries in a kind, courteous and helpful mindset.
  • Successful and vigilant management of overall customer relationships.
  • De-escalation point for operational issues/problems using pragmatic philosophies.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly analysis of market pricing characteristics and volume trends across their book.
  • Constant analysis of margin forecast vs margin realization by customer/destination.
  • Monitor customer volume reporting and proactively investigate poor customer trends.
  • Concisely organize and articulate sales pipeline activity and report weekly progress to Management.
  • Prepare monthly market conditions/market intelligence reporting for sales to analyze.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years sales experience within the energy industry preferred.
  • DEF industry exposure a plus.
  • Working understanding of PNL statements, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook & Powerpoint.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • Good time management skills and innovative thinking.
