As the Deep Tech Program Research Data Tech II, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports groundbreaking work in AI, semiconductors, and deep technologies.

The Deep Tech Program explores how artificial intelligence, quantum computing, advanced semiconductors, and other deep technologies shape society and public policy. In this role, you will support program operations, project management, communications, and research initiatives connected to Duke’s partnership with OpenAI and an upcoming Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; coursework or experience in technology policy, engineering, or public policy preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, semiconductor policy, or other deep technologies.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft content for newsletters, blog posts, and social media to highlight research and programming.
• Support projects in the AI Metascience program associated with Duke’s OpenAI partnership.
• Assist in the planning, outreach, and execution of the Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.
• Collaborate with associates, faculty, and student researchers across the Deep Tech sectors to produce cross‑sector insights and outputs.
