About The Position

Nova seeks a Deep Learning & Computer Vision Expert to drive AI-powered innovation and shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing. As a key member of Nova's Advanced Technology Group (ADT), the company's R D core, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team addressing complex challenges at the crossroads of physics, algorithms, and hardware. In this pivotal, high-impact role, you will serve as a technical architect and subject-matter authority, integrating deep learning, physics-based models, and advanced hardware systems. You'll collaborate closely with leading experts in physics, optics, hardware, and software, and report directly to the Head of Advanced Technology. You'll lead the full R D lifecycle, from early feasibility studies to scalable industrial deployment, while mentoring others and influencing Nova's strategic technology roadmap.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision and image processing.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Proven expertise in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying machine learning algorithms into production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a first-principles mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor, metrology, or physics-based modeling.
  • Proficiency in CUDA and/or C++ for GPU acceleration and high-performance computing.
  • Publications in top-tier conferences or patents in algorithmic innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and lead the end-to-end implementation of deep learning and image-processing algorithms for high-throughput industrial environments.
  • Drive feasibility studies and prototype development of novel metrology technologies.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, computer vision, and semiconductor physics to guide Nova's strategic R D direction.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across physics, optics, hardware, and software.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, influencing technical decisions and innovation strategies.
  • Mentor engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Communicate and present complex algorithmic concepts to internal stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Take full ownership of algorithmic performance, robustness, and scalability in production environments.
