About The Position

The Safety Representative – Dedicated ensures safety productivity and compliance at specified dedicated locations. This role focuses on managing safety functions and conducting hands-on safety training for safety, operations, and maintenance personnel, ensuring they can identify and address safety concerns effectively. The Dedicated Safety Representative will oversee safety operations at designated locations, ensuring compliance and productivity. Responsibilities include safety analysis, training, completion of safety needs, accident reviews and drug screening . This role is essential for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of safety procedures, policies, and federal regulations.
  • Strong instructional skills for one-on-one and classroom training
  • Proficient in safety-related decision-making, customer service, and communication.
  • Ability to work in varied outdoor environments and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other office technology.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of independent work.
  • Available for travel as .
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
  • Experience in transportation safety, public speaking, or adult education.
  • Class A CDL or willingness to obtain within 90 days .
  • Exemplary motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety needs at assigned locations, including orientation, training, accident reviews, and drug screen collection.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions on pre-trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling, and specific safety maneuvers, providing demonstrations and feedback.
  • Perform daily lot checks, assess equipment for damage, and cross-check inspection reports.
  • Facilitate account-specific orientations for new and temporary drivers.
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions with drivers, collaborating with operations and maintenance as needed.
  • Coordinate with on-site maintenance and operations personnel to address safety issues and identify training needs.
  • Provide 24-ho u r on-call safety support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
