About The Position

The Decoil Operator is a key member of the EDCOAT, LLC Paint Line team, responsible for operating and controlling the decoiler and stitching coils as directed by the Paint Line Supervisor. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the decoiling process runs smoothly and efficiently, adhering to all applicable company standards and government regulations. The Decoil Operator is expected to continuously strive to increase run time while maintaining high coil yield ratios, which is essential for the overall productivity of the paint line operations. In this role, the Decoil Operator will be accountable for various tasks, including checking in and recording details of coils during the decoiling process, loading and moving coils using cranes, forklifts, or coil tippers, and verifying the accuracy of coil size, weight, and gauge. The operator will also adjust decoiler actions via a control panel to ensure proper line tension and speed according to customer and product specifications. Additionally, the Decoil Operator will be responsible for cutting banding, aligning coils for stitching, maintaining decoiler materials, and documenting coil weights and numbers accurately throughout the process. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in both team and autonomous environments, and the capability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. The Decoil Operator must be prepared to work a 2-2-3 schedule, which includes 12-hour shifts, and may require overtime as needed. This role is vital to the success of EDCOAT, LLC, which has been a leader in the coating and slitting industry for over 25 years, providing high-quality services to a wide range of customers throughout North America.
