About The Position

We are seeking a Decking Coordinator/ Estimator to join our Intsel Steel East business. The role will be primarily responsible for partnering with our Sales and Purchasing Department within the Intsel Steel East business to provide support with estimating, quoting and coordinating the procurement of steel products. This position could be in any of the following locations: Jericho, NY, Lebanon, NJ, or New Castle, DE.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of distribution processes.
• Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
• Demonstrated negotiation and/or facilitation ability.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and employ effective time management skills.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing improvement programs and processes.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• A quick learner, deadline driven, with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with customers and vendors.
• Submit accurate deck and joist estimates to customers and sales.
• Coordinates bill of materials with detailers, inside sales, and production.
• Supports the execution of purchase orders and expedites shipments.
• Coordinates estimating schedules.
• Maintains inventory levels per company guidelines.
• Provides sales and technical support to the sales department.
• Supports strategy to sell slow moving items.
• Promotes the product with other branches.
• Helps with determining pricing strategies.
• Finalizes any claims arising from the purchase or sale of material.
• Other duties as assigned.
