About The Position

City Experiences is seeking a Deckhand for our operation in Marina del Rey. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are adaptable, dynamic, and embody the RESPECT Service System that City Experiences promotes. As part of our amazing marine team, deckhands will assist with docking and undocking, ensuring guest comfort and safety while underway, and maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the vessel. Experience in this field is not required; we will provide training. All that is required is an eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic. This role could lead to a rewarding career in the maritime industry. Shipmates must uphold the strictest safety standards for guests and crew and always maintain a professional and friendly manner. The Deckhand will be responsible for following safety procedures to ensure the protection of passengers, crew, and the vessel. This includes participating in routine safety and emergency preparedness drills, welcoming guests on the vessel with the highest level of customer service, and handling lines to moor vessels to the pier. Additionally, deckhands will stand lookout watch in the ship's bow, stern, or bridge to look for obstructions in the ship's path, assist with general maintenance on the vessel, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas. The role also involves loading or unloading materials such as trash from the vessel and providing exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System. Deckhands must be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time and maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards. Other duties may be assigned by the Captain or First Mate on duty, including cleaning and washing all boats at each port, problem-solving basic repairs, and complying with safety practices, policies, and procedures.
