About The Position

The Decision Support Specialist is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support toll system monitoring and operational decision-making. This role focuses on analyzing toll system data to ensure optimal performance, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and delivering actionable insights to business and technical stakeholders. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to modernize reporting solutions, replace legacy reports, improve reporting workflows, and support operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with business intelligence and reporting tools
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI , including:
  • Report and dashboard development
  • DAX
  • Power Query
  • Data modeling and performance optimization
  • Experience with data analysis and operational reporting
  • Basic SQL query writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, macros, VBA), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Linux command usage and basic server support
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics , or a related field
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting tolling, transportation, or roadway systems
  • Knowledge of toll lane theory of operation and troubleshooting practices
  • Experience with network and system monitoring tools (e.g., enterprise monitoring platforms)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports for toll operations and performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with database teams and internal stakeholders to connect data sources and ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Perform daily and weekly monitoring of lane performance dashboards and reports
  • Conduct hyper-care monitoring for newly deployed or upgraded toll lanes
  • Perform basic lane and plaza fault isolation, advanced troubleshooting, and third-level support for roadside servers, databases, and software
  • Analyze anomalies reported by Operations, Finance, and Maintenance teams
  • Conduct root cause analysis , impact assessments, and prepare executive-level summaries
  • Support the setup and monitoring of new toll lane system installations and upgrades
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for system monitoring transitions
  • Coordinate with internal vendors to resolve high-priority issues and escalate critical incidents when necessary
  • Identify process gaps and contribute to solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and reporting accuracy
