About The Position

The Decision Support Analyst Senior position is focused on providing decision support analyses and support services to financial service departments and other operational departments across the Enterprise, as well as all levels of management to monitor financial and operational performance. This role involves coordinating clinical analyses with the Care Management department, developing and implementing training activities, and preparing analyses and management reports to support ongoing operations and decision-making. The analyst will work closely with administrative and physician leadership to analyze costs, services, patient care protocols, and service lines using Financial Decision Support System reports, making recommendations based on these analyses. The position also includes training management on the use of Decision Support systems and developing training programs for the application of decision support modules. Additionally, the analyst will provide support to the Strategic Financial Planning department and maintain various financial databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5-7 years of healthcare Accounting, Decision Support, Budgeting, or Finance experience.
  • Robust experience in a large scale decision support function including significant system management and implementation experience.
  • Significant reporting and data analytics experience.
  • Proficient in cost accounting methods in a healthcare setting.
  • In-depth working knowledge of decision support systems, integration, database, data warehouse, Excel, and related software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provides decision support analyses and support services to financial service departments and other operational departments across the Enterprise.
  • Coordinates clinical analyses with the Care Management department.
  • Develops, implements and/or coordinates training activities.
  • Prepares analyses and develops routine and special management reports and reporting tools.
  • Analyzes various costs, services, patient care protocols and service lines using Financial Decision Support System reports.
  • Makes specific recommendations to Enterprise management and physician leadership based on analysis results.
  • Analyzes financial performance by clinical product line, physician, and contract.
  • Completes and/or advises on business development analyses.
  • Trains and educates management on the use of Decision Support system and self-serve tools.
  • Develops and maintains methodologies for allocating indirect department expenses.
  • Oversees daily and monthly processing activities of decision support data.
  • Develops cost standards for new products or services.
  • Develops and maintains Dashboards with monthly financial decision support reporting packets.
  • Performs daily, monthly and quarterly reconciliations of decision support data.
