Job Overview This person will support all aspects of T-Mobile's marketing insights and decision making to maximize T-Mobile's continued success in the US wireless market. This role favors the extremely quantitative and analytical and will generally touch on all traditional cornerstones of marketing: pricing, products, promotion, and distribution placement with specific roles and assignments going deep into any one or all of these areas. This role requires a deep understanding of financial modeling and financial driver and trade-off evaluations across Marketing, Finance, Sales and Operations, Supply Chain and with strategic external partners. This person will solve strategic problems that drive go-to-market actions through bottoms-up data exploration, modeling, and sound fact-based business judgment. Ultimately, this person is required to synthesize key learnings from bottom-up data exploration to make value optimization recommendations to Senior Leadership (SVPs/C-levels) on a regular basis, and to influence key stakeholders to drive positive business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's/Advanced Degree Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, and other quantitative fields (computer science, engineering, physics) (Required)
  • 2-4 years - Industry experience in investment banking, management consulting, or related experience in financial modeling, decision support and corporate strategy [if the candidate processes a Ph.D. degree]
  • 2-4 years - Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) [if the candidate processes a Ph.D. degree]
  • 4-7 years - Industry experience in investment banking, management consulting, or related experience in financial modeling, decision support and corporate strategy [if the candidate does NOT process a Ph.D. degree]
  • 4-7 years - Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) [if the candidate does NOT process a Ph.D. degree]
  • Mathematics Calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and probability (Required)
  • Programming Experts in using Python and SQL for data manipulation and data scripting (Required)
  • Financial Modeling Ability to build financial models for complex business problems that involve real options, financial uncertainties and economic driver analysis (Required)
  • Communication Strong communication skills, and proven records of providing decision support and building presentation materials for SVP/C-level discussions (Required)
  • Industry Work Experience: Industry experience in investment banking, management consulting, or related experience in financial modeling, decision support and corporate strategy (Required)
  • Technical Skills: Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) (Required)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Extract, prepare and model large, complex data sets using a combination of skills, including mathematics, statistics, and programming language such as SQL, Python, R.
  • Monitor change in new program launch and promotions, and create detailed quarterly promo calendar by writing Python and other text extraction codes
  • Solve strategic problems that drive go-to-market actions through bottoms-up data exploration, modeling, and sound fact-based business judgment.
  • Identify value enhancing opportunities and key economic drivers through testing hypothesis using rigorous analytical data-driven approach, financial models, real options and sensitivity analysis
  • Construct Senior Executive level (SVP and C-level) presentations on complex analytical findings in clear, concise and decision-impacting manner.
  • Possess the ability to influence leadership through fact-based analysis and drive positive business outcomes
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Sales and Operations, Supply Chain, and with external strategic partners to evaluate service and device pricing, product portfolio optimization, customer behavioral modeling, special offer impact analysis, and distribution channel strategy.
  • Develop prototypes to solve challenging and new business problems and ensure enterprise value maximization
