About The Position

JOB PURPOSE This position removes small imperfection, rough edges, excess pieces and flaws on a variety of sizes of parts coming from the machining area prior to moving on to the assembly area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Individual should have good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Organized and focused.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Extremely good manual dexterity needed for handling small and large parts.
  • Good eyesight in order to identify fine features and burrs that need to be removed
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, identify and remove burrs or defects from machined parts using drawings and work orders as a reference.
  • Reject defective parts (due to flaws in material and workmanship) and remove and mark parts appropriately.
  • Work with small and large detailed plastic components using a light, controlled touch to avoid damage to parts.
  • Communicate with supervisor and engineer if there are issues with parts that are defective or do not match drawings.
  • Remove imperfections and smooth edges using hand tools such as X-Acto knives, files, dry ice deburr machines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Adjust tools, clean and replace as necessary.
  • Provide accurate inventory counts at all times and organize parts in appropriate batch storage areas.
  • Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals.
  • Ability to use timeclock system for basic clocking in/out and to pull job queue and follow job order without additional instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
