About The Position
As a Debt Specialist III at TD Bank, you will play a crucial role in reducing losses by negotiating and collecting payments on delinquent retail, consumer, residential, or auto accounts. This position requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of products and services, processes, procedures, and systems, or deep skills in focused areas. You will be responsible for performing multiple and diverse tasks that cover a wide range of complexity, which includes gathering and analyzing data to identify and solve complex problems. You will need to use sound judgment and an understanding of process and policy risk when recommending exceptions outside general practices or guidelines. Your role will involve communicating unusual and complex content clearly and handling sensitive information with care. The area assigned to you will typically involve last efforts to prevent loss, and you will conduct detailed investigative work to locate missing borrowers, regularly utilizing skip tracing and other techniques. Compliance with all pertinent department and bank policies and procedures is essential, and you will need to elevate issues that may result in foreclosure or repossession when necessary. Additionally, you will suggest changes or modifications to policies and procedures to your supervisor based on your day-to-day observations and activities. You will serve as the entry point for the identification, routing, and documentation of all pertinent collection support processes, including modifications, bankruptcy, and skip tracing.
