About The Position

The Debris Monitor position at Tetra Tech, Inc. involves overseeing the removal of disaster-generated debris from public rights-of-way. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with federal regulations during the debris cleanup process. Monitors will document the removal activities and confirm that only eligible debris is collected, contributing to the restoration of communities affected by disasters. This is a temporary, full-time position that offers the opportunity to earn up to $1,300 a week with overtime, and no prior experience is required as training will be provided.

Requirements

• Have a valid driver's license.
• Possess an insured reliable and dependable vehicle for following trucks.
• Must meet driving record qualifications and pass a successful MVR check.
• Ability to work on weekends.
• Ability to work for long periods of time (roughly 10-12 hours a day).
• Ability to use a smartphone.
• Provide valid I9 documentation identifications.
• Good teamwork and cooperation skills.
• Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and observe all loading activities of trucks and other vehicles as instructed by the supervisor.
• Confirm that hauling contractors are loading only eligible storm-related debris from public rights-of-way.
• Ensure contractors pick up all eligible debris and clear branches off roadways and private driveways.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations during debris cleanup.
• Understand daily responsibilities set by the supervisor and project manager.
• Brief Supervisor on the day's activities, debris collection progress, issues, or problems.
