Weyerhaeuser's Montana Wood Products is currently looking to fill a Debarker Operator position at our Columbia Falls MDF facility. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical ability preferred.
• Knowledge of pulp yard and MDF operations.
• Ability to keep infeed and outfeed decks straight and assist with crooked logs.
• Ability to learn operation of log infeed deck; infeed conveyor and saw; outfeed conveyor and storage deck.
• Ability to use chain saw to cut crooked or long logs.
• Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate and legible manner.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision and be self-motivated.
• Ability to work closely with others; be a team player/leader; demonstrate good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
• Knowledge and willingness to use safety standards, use lockout procedures and wear necessary PPE.
• Ability to maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety and attendance records.
• Willingness to work any shift, work on short notice, work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor.
• Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Knowledge and ability to use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Show proficiency in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) standards.
• Knowledge of lockout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing by maintaining the proper flow of pulp logs through the Debarker.
• Responsible for removing bark off the logs by effectively operating and maintaining the Debarker, Chipper and support equipment.
• Under the supervision of the log yard lead maintain full production pace by effectively managing the Debarker.
• Work with management, pulp yard staff, maintenance and other departments to maintain a proper flow of chips to the MDF facility.
• Operate, service and maintain equipment; including but not limited to making sure all conveyors are operating properly; blowing down Debarker and chipper at end of shift; filling ring lube oiler - greasing ring and infeed roll each shift; unplugging hammer-hog and bark conveyors; and changing chain saw chain.
