About The Position

The Dean of Student Services at Broward College serves as a senior campus officer responsible for enhancing the student experience through oversight of Admissions, Registration, and Academic Advising. This role involves collaboration with various departments to implement effective policies that support student achievement and engagement, while also ensuring a safe learning environment. The Dean acts as the Chief Student Conduct Officer and Ombudsperson, addressing student and community concerns and leading initiatives that promote the college's mission.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field.
• Seven years of progressive administrative or managerial experience.
• Five years of leadership experience in academic advising.
• Strong public speaking and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with budget management and State/Federal grants.
• Knowledge of UFF Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, supervision, and evaluation of division programs and services, including professional development of staff.
• Investigates and resolves complaints from students, faculty, and staff, maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Develops and manages the Campus and Pathways Learning Community Student Services budget.
• Participates in college committees and project teams to support Campus and Pathways Learning Communities goals.
• Develops partnerships with area high schools, non-profit organizations, and community businesses.
• Enforces policy and procedure interpretation for Student Services departments and recommends improvements.
