Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Dean of the Edward L. Hutton Honors College. The Hutton Honors College (HHC) is a unique learning community of more than 5,000 current undergraduates from across IUB's 17 schools and the College. The community includes talented, highly motivated students from all over Indiana, more than 40 U.S. states, and a dozen other countries who join HHC for enriched academic and social experiences and a host of interdisciplinary learning and research opportunities. In an environment that fosters active, innovative learning, the HHC challenges and supports students through offering fascinating multidisciplinary courses and providing holistic academic advising, a range of extracurricular programs and service opportunities, including honors student organizations, and targeted honors housing opportunities. The Hutton Honors College also offers grants and awards to encourage undergraduates to explore and innovate by conducting research, completing internships, studying abroad, pursuing creative activities, and more. Students in the campus's distinguished Wells Scholars and Cox Research Scholars programs are part of the Hutton Honors College, where they can apply for grants in support of research, internships, creative activity, conference travel, and honors thesis work. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President at IU Bloomington, the Dean serves as the chief strategic, academic, and administrative officer for the HHC. This individual is responsible for defining the HHC's direction and priorities at the highest level; overseeing its growth and development; managing personnel, budget, and policy; and shaping the experience for students, faculty, and staff. Direct reports to the Dean include two assistant deans and four directors. The Dean works in close collaboration with senior leaders in IUB's schools and the College, school and department honors programs, and campus administrative leaders. The Dean also convenes a campus advisory board and engages the HHC's large and active alumni base.
