About The Position

Working from our office in Bentonville, AR or from your home office, under a 10 month contract, the Dean of Students serves as a key academic leader dedicated to advancing student achievement in a fully virtual K–12 environment. This role focuses on strengthening instructional quality, monitoring student progress, implementing data-driven interventions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Dean of Students collaborates closely with school leadership, teachers, student support teams, families, and partner school districts across the state. Occasional statewide travel may be required for professional development, academic screenings, and state testing coordination. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, gifted designations, or attendance challenges, receive appropriate academic support within our virtual setting.

Requirements

  • Meet ARCA’s location requirements
  • Valid Arkansas Teacher Certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful full-time K–12 teaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Academic intervention systems
  • Progress monitoring and data analysis
  • Special education compliance and support structures
  • Demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Proficiency with:
  • Data management systems
  • Learning management systems
  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Virtual teaching platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-focused, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional statewide travel required.

Nice To Haves

  • School Administration Certification preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in virtual or blended learning environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and fidelity of the schoolwide MTSS framework.
  • Manage Tier 2 and Tier 3 placement using summative, interim, and diagnostic data.
  • Monitor intervention effectiveness and adjust supports as needed.
  • Prepare and submit intervention cycle reports to the state in compliance with requirements.
  • Coordinate escalation and referral processes, including special education referrals for student intervention needs.
  • Oversee K–12 academic progress and alignment between instruction and curriculum goals.
  • Analyze student, class, grade-level, and building-wide data to inform instruction and professional development.
  • Maintain and monitor student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for intervention.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of evidence-based academic interventions for struggling students.
  • Support teachers in differentiating instruction for gifted students, students with disabilities, and those with 504 plans.
  • Ensure curriculum adaptations to meet diverse student needs.
  • Identify and support students with attendance, academic, or disciplinary challenges.
  • Collaborate with truancy officers, district personnel, and caretakers to improve student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate student records and oversee academic reporting requirements.
  • Provide professional development for faculty on data use, interventions, and student engagement strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
