The Dean of Students position is the second in command of the Division of Student Affairs. This position will act and make decisions in the absence of the Vice President of Student Affairs. In addition to the divisional leadership role, the Dean of Students manages the University's student conduct in promoting and maintaining student rights and responsibilities. The Director continually recommends, develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures in support of the institutional and divisional mission. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student advocacy, student discipline, program planning, evaluation and assessment of learner outcomes, training, supervision, budgeting, and policy compliance. Beyond the student conduct role, the Dean of Students is responsible for the student grievance process, the Division of Student Affairs departmental evaluation process, assessment, assist with student crises, including student accidents and death, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
