About The Position

The Dean of Students oversees student conduct, discipline, and overall school climate to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. This role involves implementing school-wide behavioral policies, supporting social-emotional development, collaborating with teachers, staff, and families, and analyzing data to guide interventions and improve student outcomes. The Dean of Students serves as a resource for students and families while promoting a collaborative school culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably in a leadership or administrative role (minimum three (3) years)
Strong understanding of child development, behavior management, and student support strategies
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities

Oversee student conduct and discipline, ensuring adherence to school policies and a safe, respectful environment.
Implement, monitor, and enforce school-wide behavioral expectations and interventions.
Address student safety and welfare concerns, including investigating incidents, holding meetings with parents, documenting findings, contacting appropriate authorities, and adhering to legal requirements and regulations.
Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote positive behavior, conflict resolution, and social-emotional learning among students.
Monitor and analyze student performance, behavior, and attendance data to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted intervention strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to support student academic, social, and emotional growth.
Serve as a resource for students and families, providing guidance, support, and conflict mediation as needed.
Monitor attendance trends and oversee truancy interventions.
Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school administration to resolve concerns and maintain a positive school culture.
Stay informed on best practices in education and student support, implementing relevant strategies within the school.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Monitor and respond to Safe2Tell submissions and other student safety concerns.
