About The Position

Dean (.50 FTE) This assignment supports the principal by handling non-administrative tasks that promote exceptional education and student achievement, foster the development of individuals and teams, and strengthen relationships. Responsibilities include administering student discipline fairly and consistently, monitoring attendance, coordinating meetings, conferences, and professional development, supervising classified staff, supporting instructional programs and initiatives, and cultivating positive community relations among stakeholders. The Elementary Dean of Students serves as a high-energy catalyst for a thriving school environment, taking the lead on cultivating a positive school culture and climate where every student feels seen and supported. This proactive leader is a "go-getter" who takes initiative to design and implement consistent behavior expectations, ensuring that discipline is handled with a restorative lens that keeps students engaged in learning. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Dean requires little supervision to identify potential cultural gaps and bridge them through innovative programs, staff coaching, and direct student mentorship. By maintaining a visible and energetic presence in hallways and classrooms, they act as the primary architect of a safe, joyful, and orderly learning community where high behavioral standards and a sense of belonging go hand-in-hand. Instructional Coach (.50 FTE) The Instructional Coach is responsible for integrating evidence-based practices and 21st Century skills into classrooms by collaborating with teachers and school leaders. This role focuses on developing teacher proficiency through individual and group professional learning, enhancing understanding of research-based effective instruction. The coach aligns instructional support with the school leader's vision and prepares leaders to sustain these skills through focused observations, descriptive feedback, and various assessment methods. Instructional Coaches leverage experience with similar student populations, deep knowledge of best practices for a rigorous academic culture, design thinking processes, and the ability to lead through influence rather than authority to achieve meaningful, lasting results. Additionally, the coach fosters strong community relations among stakeholders and, in future years, will support International Baccalaureate (IB) programming as the school's IB Coordinator.
