About The Position

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean provides visionary, strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Gerrish School of Business (GSB). The Dean is a forward-thinking steward of Endicott’s "Experiential Edge," ensuring that the curriculum not only meets rigorous academic standards but also pivots to meet the demands of the workplace of the future, including the integration of AI and shifting entry-level professional roles. The Dean is responsible for ensuring academic quality, driving enrollment growth across undergraduate and graduate portfolios, and championing a curriculum that evolves alongside global industry trends. The ideal candidate will have the ability to balance the daily management of an academic school with the ability to develop partnerships and expand internship opportunities. Requirements

  • Academic and Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and managerial experience; background in higher education preferred.
  • Terminal Degree: PhD or DBA in a relevant academic area offered by the School.
  • Industry Experience: Direct industry experience is highly valued, provided it is coupled with experience in higher education.
  • Professional Standing: Involvement in professional associations, preferably holding leadership positions.
  • Technical & Professional Skills Systems: Proficiency in Workday for administrative and fiscal tasks.
  • Operational Knowledge: Deep institutional and operational knowledge of how a higher education business school functions in a competitive market.
  • Soft Skills: High reliability, exceptional communication (public speaking and writing), and the ability to use sound judgment with confidential matters.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A team player who shares knowledge and fosters a supportive, creative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enrollment & Student Relations (30%): Mentor and advise students, maintaining a deep understanding of their academic and professional development. Support student retention initiatives through direct efforts to ensure student success. Facilitate GSB involvement in major Admission events to meet enrollment targets. Oversee marketing strategies to increase enrollment in graduate portfolios. Ensure success of Endicott’s “Experiential Edge” through development of external partnerships, internal support of the internship program, and collaboration with the Internship and Career Center to build employee relationships.
  • Leadership & Personnel Management (25%): Provide strategic vision and leadership to faculty and staff looking forward to the next generation of business students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels Oversee hiring and performance evaluations of faculty and staff. Engage directly in daily management of GSB systems and processes, including interacting with students, families, registration periods, and related initiatives. Manage and mentor academic staff across undergraduate and graduate levels. Navigate labor relations with excellence, specifically working with unionized faculty.
  • Curricular Oversight & Accreditation (20%): Lead the design and utilization of curriculum for business programs. Ensure the school remains agile by routinely coordinating curricular changes to adapt to shifting market needs. Manage regular external program reviews and reports for accreditation bodies such as NECHE.
  • Fiscal & Administrative Management (15%): Utilize Workday for effective departmental administration, budget tracking, and personnel management. Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to promote relationships with major donors. Manage annual operating and capital budgets with fiscal responsibility.
  • Academic Engagement (10%): Teach one course each semester to maintain a direct connection with the student body. Active participation in the life of the College (Commencement, Homecoming, La Chanterelle, Spark Tank and related GSB events). Other duties as assigned
