Texas A&M University-Texarkana is an ascending member of the Texas A&M University System and is currently the fastest-growing university within the System. Unprecedented growth in enrollment and expansion of academic programs has led to the formation of the new College of Engineering and Computing and an opportunity for an inaugural Dean of the College. The inaugural Dean of the College of Engineering is the chief academic administrator of the College and its programs. Current programs include BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited), BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET Accredited), BS in Computer Engineering, BS in Civil Engineering, and a BS in Computer Science, and additional concentrations in Computer Network and Cyber Security, and Artificial Intelligence. Future programs include a BS in Chemical Engineering, BS in Biomedical Engineering, MS in Engineering Management, MS in General Engineering with concentrations in Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering, MS in Computer Science, and an MS in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Certificate programs include Pulp and Paper Technology, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for Engineers. Future certificates include Material Science and Aluminum Metallurgy, and Advanced Manufacturing. The Dean reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and will be expected to support the University's mission, vision, and commitment to academic excellence, student success, and community leadership.
