About The Position
The Dealership Accountant I position at the South Central Finance Center is an entry-level role focused on ensuring the timely, accurate, and consistent recording of dealership transactions. This traditional accounting role involves managing the transactional posting of dealership activities, which is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of the dealership. Candidates will be expected to develop their accounting and financial acumen while also enhancing their relationship-building and leadership skills. High performers in this role will have the opportunity to progress towards an Accounting Manager position or, with additional automotive and business knowledge, towards a Business Manager role. The Dealership Accountant I will report directly to either the Business Manager or the Accounting Manager. Key responsibilities include the submission of service and warranty contracts, recording new and used car purchases, processing lien payoffs, handling cash receipts, and managing vendor invoices. The role also involves FTC reconciliation and accounting for manufacturer funds related to parts, warranty, incentives, and miscellaneous items. The position requires a strong attention to detail, effective time management, and excellent communication skills, both written and oral. A positive customer service attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
