About The Position

The Dealership Accounting Assistant at Volkswagen SouthTowne is a full-time position responsible for supporting the accounting team with various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as prior dealership experience, ideally with CDK software. The assistant will work closely with the Office Manager and Controller to ensure accurate financial operations within the dealership.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Reconcile and deposit service and parts receipts daily.
• Receipt all monies received from vehicle sales and provide drafts for dealer signature.
• Enter finalized cash receipts and update accounts receivable ledger by customer.
• File all cash receipt records, check stubs, and bank receipts.
• Prepare cash deposits and fill out the cash control sheet daily.
• Reconcile statements and follow up on collections as necessary.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivable statements.
• Perform background checks on credit applications and give approvals for current charges.
• Process daily credit card deposits and research chargebacks, returns, and bad checks.
• Pull original vehicle invoices for payoff by the office manager and pass trade payoffs to the office manager.
• Update customers' account information and input new vehicles into the computer system as directed.
• Report sold units through the factory reporting system and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Post fuel credits daily and reconcile the fuel schedule.
• Fill in for other administrative positions as needed and assist with related special projects.
• Maintain a professional appearance and neat work area.
