About The Position

The Dealer Services Representative I is responsible for all activities required to process Indirect loans from application through closing. This role provides exceptional member service to dealers and processes loans in a timely, accurate, professional, and courteous manner. The position reports to the Funding Manager - Indirect Lending and is classified as non-exempt.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED.
  • At least one year of contract processing experience.
  • Basic comprehension of arithmetic and basic clerical skills.
  • Familiarity with the auto finance industry and consumer credit.
  • Understanding of title/lien perfecting in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of credit application verification processes and related documents.
  • Understanding of credit laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand credit applications and reports.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Friendly attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and dependability.
  • Punctuality and attendance are critical.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays.

  • Bilingual skills are helpful.
  • Completion of CUNA's CPD Online courses as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Process Indirect loan applications and gather necessary loan documents.
  • Validate accuracy of loan documents and update the Loan Origination System (LOS) as needed.
  • Calculate income of applicants prior to funding an indirect lending contract.
  • Verify employment, residence, and insurance as necessary.
  • Assist Indirect Dealers with loan payoffs.
  • Conduct phone interviews with members as needed.
  • Communicate with dealers on missing stipulations and documents.
  • Review applications for tolerance rule variances and route to the appropriate authority.
  • Handle incoming phone traffic professionally and route calls appropriately.
  • Utilize Opening Act and/or Symitar to open and process new accounts.
  • Communicate funding verification problems to the Indirect Funding Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal regulations including BSA and OFAC.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Meet established service and production goals for the Indirect Lending Department.
  • Assist in the development of new projects and process improvements.
