Requirements

  • Minimum of one-year medical interpretation experience for sign language in a healthcare setting required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Licensed Interpreter through the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • National certification through the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and/or the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and working within a database preferred.
  • Experience in remote and in-person ASL interpretation
  • Experience in appointment and interpreter coordination

  • Provide deaf and hard of hearing interpretation for patients, families, and staff of the organization
  • Support the patient care needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community.
