About The Position

The DC Virgo Preparatory Academy Assistant Principal supports the principal in the daily operations of the school, focusing on both academic and managerial duties. This role involves collaboration with teachers, students, and families to enhance the educational environment and ensure student success. The Assistant Principal will also evaluate staff and participate in professional learning communities, contributing to the school's kinship network aimed at supporting student growth and development.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in School Administration or a related field.
• Valid North Carolina school administrator license or eligibility to obtain one.
• At least 3 years of experience working with diverse populations and supporting students facing academic challenges.

Nice To Haves

• 5 or more years of experience working with diverse populations and students who have academically struggled.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in school or district level leadership.
• Documented excellence as a classroom teacher.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of new curriculum implementation.
• Ability to monitor student safety and wellbeing.
• Knowledge of confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the principal in daily school operations.
