About The Position

Under close supervision, this position will assist with customers on providing transportation/logistics services. The internship will provide exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles and involve participation in daily operational tasks including planning of freight, asset utilization, safety management, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, driver payroll, Customer Value Delivery, logistics management/analysis, driver supervision, profit-and-loss management, and maintenance coordination. Interns will gain an understanding of industry trends and company initiatives as it relates to driver retention and perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four year undergraduate degree program and in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a business degree or related field.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week and complete an 8-9 week internship program.
• Junior or Senior level preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight and asset utilization.
• Assist with safety management and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
• Support driver payroll and Customer Value Delivery.
• Engage in logistics management/analysis and driver supervision.
• Contribute to profit-and-loss management and maintenance coordination.
• Understand industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by customers.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
