As the DCS Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, commissioning, and operations of the control system within the facility Engineering Department. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Support site DCS, PLC, and all other industrial automation systems including but not limited to ABB, Allen Bradley Implement logic changes to minimize plant trips and improve plant reliability. Establish a management of change process to ensure logic changes are controlled and risk assessed to ensure plant integrity is not compromised. Developing and documenting new strategies to troubleshoot instrumentation, diagnose operational interruptions, and maximize overall equipment effectiveness. Working with unit operation team and process engineers to identify and implement new ways to increase product yields, reduce energy usage, and optimize the value of by- products. Coaching operations and other technical personnel on the concepts and use of control strategies. Generating new control strategies or instrument utilization projects which improve unit operations. Working in a team environment with other Process Control Engineers to maintain the overall site control system hardware and software. Process control algorithm development, prototyping and implementation. Organize, design, and carry out the development, implementation and maintenance of Advanced/Basic Control and Process Optimization. Collaborate with other team members to increase the production of quantities and qualities of desired product at the lowest cost in accordance with applicable safety and environmental standards and policies Other duties as required
