About The Position

The Area Director for Economic Stability at DCFS is responsible for overseeing social service operations within the Shreveport Region. This role involves providing guidance and support to program operations managers, ensuring effective administration of programs aimed at assisting families with economic needs. The position requires a strong background in social services, particularly in Child Support Enforcement, Child Welfare, or Economic Stability programs, and includes supervisory responsibilities over managers in these areas.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree plus six years of professional level social services experience, three years of which must have been at the supervisory level in relevant programs.
• Substitutions for the degree include six years of full-time work experience in any field or a combination of work experience and college credit.
• Graduate training in relevant fields can substitute for a maximum of one year of general experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with programs such as SNAP, Kinship Care Subsidy Program, Child Care Assistance Program, and others related to Economic Stability.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to program operations managers in assigned service area(s) to ensure proper administration of all programs.
• Analyze and assess the effectiveness of all programs to ensure achievement of identified outcome measures.
• Provide consultation and technical assistance to operations managers and regional staff in meeting program requirements and addressing corrective actions.
• Implement necessary actions to handle sensitive issues and cases.
• Coordinate all program functions with headquarters and the geographic region.
