About The Position

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Distribution Center (DC) Process Lead. The Distribution Center Process Lead assists a department supervisor operating one of the core areas of our DC operations: shipping, receiving, production and inventory management & technology. The DC Process Lead will serve as the first point of contact for their team and is responsible for achieving daily production goals.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of cross departmental teams.
  • Working knowledge of processes and practices related to distribution center operations including shipping, receiving, production and/or inventory management and technology.
  • Proficient computer skills to perform transactions in warehouse management systems.
  • Effective communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; go up and down stairs; and stand, walk push, pull, squat, bend and reach during shifts.
  • Ability to use carts, dollies, hand trucks and other equipment to move items around.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate degree or GED equivalent.
  • 5 years warehouse or production facility experience.
  • Certification to operate motorized pallet jack and forklift a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coaches teams through solving problems and monitoring of key operating processes.
  • Manages highly automated, complex processes in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.
  • Assists in maintaining records of daily operations activities and advises senior leadership of any problems that may adversely impact the put-away, replenishment and picking of product.
  • Communicates goals and expectations to employees and ensures daily production goals are met.
  • Develops, monitors and maintains production plans, inventories and schedules to ensure excellent process performance and product quality.
  • Identifies areas to improve operations in order to achieve or exceed key performance indicators and targets.
  • Works with senior leaders to drive process improvement initiatives and change efforts.
  • Participates in root cause analysis for DC processes
  • Operates mobile production equipment and interface with Virginia ABC's Warehouse Management System.
