Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years accumulated DC power experience.
  • High school diploma (technical degree or military electrical experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Telcordia and other customer DC installation practices.
  • Strong verbal, written and customer facing skills.
  • Strong computer and smart phone skills including MS Office.
  • Experience complying with all customer standards and paperwork to include JSA, MOP, change order and job completion forms.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment.
  • Experience commissioning OEM dc equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting ac and dc circuits.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficient use of hand tools including drills, saws, wrenches, crimpers, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices in a construction type environment.
  • Knowledge of basic DC theory especially as it relates to potential difference and characteristics of current flow.
  • Knowledge of basic battery operation.
  • Knowledge of basic AC electrical practices, especially as related to branch circuitry.
  • Ability to climb step ladders and work aloft.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and turn up electrical dc equipment in customer communication facilities.
  • Add and/or removal of battery strings.
  • Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits.
  • Add and/or remove circuits on working power dc distribution equipment.
  • Installation of auxiliary framing, ladder racking and relay racks including running cable, securing cable, floor drilling/equipment mounting, grounding, battery work, cable connecting, labeling/tagging.
  • Perform on-site job layout of drawings and specifications.
  • Participate in all internal and external quality audits, both in-process and final.
  • Prepare method of procedures (MOP's).
  • Function as the point-of-contact for support groups such as engineering, material assignment, etc.
  • Review the work assignments and project steps (reference the SOW and MOP) before each work shift to ensure that all personnel, including contractors, are aware of their roles and responsibilities during the scheduled work tour.
  • Complete required EnerSys and customer documentation as needed.
  • Perform all work with safety in mind and ensure that all safety measures are met.
  • Supervise contractors in all fundamental aspects of a power installation.
  • Provide mentoring and training to other EnerSys employees and attend and complete required training.
