About The Position

MedStar Health is seeking a general Hematology/Oncology Physician to be part of our one-location opportunity at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, at 18105 Prince Philip Dr., Olney, MD 20832. The center is CoC accredited with their own general and tumor boards and an affiliate of MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute, giving you access to all Georgetown tumor boards. The dynamic candidate will be given an opportunity to practice in a major community affiliate of an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center based on clinical care in a network. The practice based at MedStar Montgomery will focus on bread-and-butter hematology/oncology with treatment of a wide variety of cancers and opportunities to grow programs in cancer survivorship, tobacco cessation and lung cancer screening. Onsite services include, but are not limited to radiation oncology, imaging (including PET), breast center, oncology nurse navigator, oncology social services, APP support, nutritionist, palliative team, oncology pharmacy, and research coordinator. The practice also has access to the clinical trial portfolio of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Maryland.
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community oncology settings.
  • Familiarity with clinical trials and research.
  • Interest in developing cancer survivorship programs.

Responsibilities
