About The Position

Perform one or more DC outbound functions such as loading, picking, or packing orders for shipment. Perform all tasks according to the proper method for the DC-WMS or paper. The role involves locating and pulling merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part numbers on the merchandise. Once the order is completed, the merchandise must be marked by customer number and sent down the conveyor. It is essential to maintain DC standards for both accuracy and productivity when picking orders. Additionally, the position requires consolidating and packing all stock order merchandise quickly and accurately for efficient checking by the customer. All products not shipped in totes must be itemized on the freight bill as soon as they are received, ensuring that all freight bills are dated with the correct route and totaled at the day’s end, including hazardous material. The role also involves operating handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment at WMS DCs, checking items off the freight bill as they are loaded, and ensuring the number and types of items loaded match the freight bill total. Other responsibilities include loading trucks quickly and accurately, tying and securing freight, keeping picking zones supplied with totes, and maintaining a neat and clean work area. Team members with experience may be designated as trainers, responsible for conducting training according to schedule and ensuring all documentation is complete. Safety standards must be maintained while operating, and unsafe practices must be identified. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and match numbers and letters quickly and accurately.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous work experience in a similar warehouse environment.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trainer for new team members, ensuring training is conducted according to schedule.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices.
