About The Position

The position of DC Infra Eng II at Amazon Data Services, Inc. involves working with design professionals on concepts and build projects, creating, reviewing, and releasing data center designs. The role includes managing a portfolio of data center designs and features, developing and maintaining Architecture, Civil and Structural-Basis of Design prototype design, and template specifications for structural systems. The engineer will evaluate superstructure design options and assess structural calculation assumptions. Responsibilities also include creating, reviewing, and releasing architectural/civil/structural design Request for Proposals (RFPs), managing external architectural, civil, and structural design consultants, and coordinating with internal and external MEP design engineers. The position requires leading initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency while working on multiple data center build and capital improvement projects simultaneously. Travel for site assessments, consultant selection activities, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with various stakeholders is also part of the job.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE.
• Experience with design of Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities.
• Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.
