About The Position

As a DC Forklift Operator at O'Reilly Auto Parts, you will operate fork trucks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while unloading trucks and moving freight within the Distribution Center. Your essential job functions will include moving incoming merchandise from truck to dock, stocking all rack merchandise, and arranging rack surplus from zones appropriately. You will also be responsible for setting down rack surplus for zones to ensure orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations. Additionally, you will perform miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck, replenish outbound totes as needed, assist with maintaining mezzanine zones, and maintain safety standards while operating. Team members with experience may be designated as trainers, taking ownership of the DC target training program and ensuring all training is conducted according to schedule. You will explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members and convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.

Requirements

  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Operating knowledge of fork trucks and power equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience operating various types of power equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).

Responsibilities

  • Move incoming merchandise from truck to dock and dock to correct stocking areas.
  • Stock all rack merchandise and arrange rack surplus from zones appropriately.
  • Set down rack surplus for zones to fill orders and replenish stocking locations.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck.
  • Replenish outbound totes as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining mezzanine zones.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices.
  • Train new team members and convey departmental changes.
