About The Position

The DC Engineer Specialist will be responsible for network design and implementation, focusing on advanced network solutions including LAN, WAN, Cisco SD-WAN, and cloud-based networking. The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco devices such as routers, switches, WiFi controllers, and data center Nexus switches. The specialist will develop and maintain both high-level and low-level design documentation, including network diagrams and configurations, while evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance network performance and capabilities. Additionally, the position involves designing and implementing data center network architectures, managing VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS, and fabric interconnects, and ensuring high-performance, low-latency networks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced network solutions, including LAN, WAN, Cisco SD-WAN, and cloud-based networking.
  • Develop and maintain high-level and low-level design documentation, including network diagrams and configurations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network performance and capabilities.
  • Design and implement data center network architectures, including spine-leaf topologies, software-defined networking (SDN), and network virtualization.
  • Manage VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS, and fabric interconnects.
  • Maintain high-performance, low-latency networks.
  • Plan and execute data center migrations.
  • Assess existing data center environments and develop migration strategies.
  • Implement network connectivity between old and new data centers during migration, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth migration process.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize flow.
  • Document plans and configurations, and post-migration configurations for future reference.
  • Optimize data center traffic flow, ensuring redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Design and implement rack layouts and cabling plans for data center environments.
  • Manage structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling.
  • Perform audits of rack and cabling setups to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Design and implement cloud-based networking solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Integrate on-premises networks with cloud environments using VPNs, Direct Connect, or ExpressRoute.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud networks.
