About The Position

The DC Associate position is located in Winchester, VA within the Distribution & Transportation division. This role involves working as part of a team responsible for moving freight, stock, or other materials. Distribution Operators support the productivity of distribution operations by performing all tasks conducted by their team in the shipping and receiving process and rotating through different tasks during their shift as needed. This position is expected to work in 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, experience will be considered in lieu of education
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership
• Forklift experience required

Nice To Haves

• Logistics, warehouse, or other distribution experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand or using forklifts or other industrial vehicles
• Read and attach identifying tags to containers, material, or product packaging, or mark them with identifying information
• Communicate with Distribution Administration to ensure timely and complete delivery of product, materials, and equipment
• Inspect all incoming trailers and containers and document any damage to trailers or containers, or product, material, or equipment being transported
• Use computer inventory system to track and keep accurate inventory records
• Maintain a safe and accident free environment by adhering to safety standards and identifying safety issues and reporting them to his/her supervisor or the safety manager
• Shovel, sweep, wipe down, or otherwise clean work areas, equipment, tools, and machinery
