About The Position

As the Assistant Manager of DC Operations, you will assist in the effective flow of merchandise to 60+ stores within an Omni-Channel Distribution Center. Your position has the leadership of and accountability for assisting in the operational, people, quality, safety, and fiscal requirements of Order Fulfillment, Replenishment, Receiving, Shipping, Reverse Logistics, Inventory Control, Customer Returns, and support functions. You will work closely and collaboratively with the Supply Chain Leadership Team, Merchandise Planning, and Finance to improve speed, cost, and service. In addition, you will assist in inspiring your team and leading efforts to deliver sound operational results; exceeding customer expectations, delivering innovation, and assisting in developing a talented team.

Requirements

  • Progressive leadership experience in a production/processing/retail environment or equivalent.
  • Previous management experience in direct-to-consumer, retail, or OMNI-channel environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple strategic business priorities concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's License and have a clean MVR Record
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry a minimum of 50lbs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work flexible/extended hours, including evenings and/or weekends as needed
  • Strong understanding of business processes including retail operations, distribution, and logistics operations, including inventory control and accounting practices

  • Assist in communicating clear goals/expectations and standards on an ongoing basis including varying levels of communication for direct reports, support teams, associates, cross-functional teams, and executive level updates
  • Empowering team members to deliver results against established goals and priorities while creating an environment where everyone can do their best work
  • Ensuring that the DC is culturally representative of Christy Sports, participating in and supporting Christy Sports initiatives that enhance and maintain our Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Assist in investing in training and development for teams and associates to grow internal talent pools and create healthy succession pipelines
  • Assist in ensuring the DC operates with industry best practices in the areas of Innovation, Efficiency, Customer Service/Service Level, Quality, People, & Safety
  • Collaborating with key partners to oversee the creation of annual plans; operational budget, capital budget, BC/DR plans, site goal plans, headcount, DC labor plan, etc.
  • Assist to continuously improve the operation, driving innovation via industry benchmarking, including the utilization of new technology and automation with effective utilization of capital and return on investment
  • Leveraging intelligent production performance standards and quality goals to foster the achievement of team/Company results
  • Utilizing Data Management Framework and analysis to maintain or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Planning, implementing, and supporting strategies that ensure the effective processing of seasonal / peak fluctuations, achieving the best use of human capital and labor cost
  • Leveraging awareness/knowledge of how material handling and DC software interact with one another to effectively move products through the facility
  • Ensuring operational alignment with the deliverables of the site supports functions (Merchandise Planning, HR, Digital, IT, Inventory & Finance)
  • In partnership with your leader, providing tactical support for all ongoing processes, short and long-term projects, and daily operations.
  • Responsible for the security and safety of all teams, products, and Company property/equipment
  • Fostering and maintaining a collaborative, productive relationship with Merchandise Planning, Digital, and third-party vendors; troubleshooting, brainstorming, and arriving at the solutions of the future.
